We are recruiting for an experienced Contracts Manager to join a well-established construction contractor based in Newcastle upon Tyne.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially aware and driven individual with a strong background in delivering both new build and refurbishment projects across a variety of sectors.

The successful candidate will oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The Role

  • Manage multiple construction projects from pre-construction through to completion.
  • Oversee both refurbishment and new build schemes.
  • Lead and support Site Managers and project teams.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and profitably.
  • Monitor programmes, budgets, quality, and contractual obligations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
  • Attend client meetings and provide regular project updates.
  • Manage procurement, resource allocation, and subcontractor performance.
  • Identify project risks and implement effective solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety legislation and company procedures.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Contracts Manager within the general construction sector.
  • Strong background delivering new build and refurbishment projects.
  • Experience managing multiple live projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and contractual knowledge.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to build lasting relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
  • Good understanding of construction programmes and project delivery.
  • SMSTS, CSCS, and a full UK driving licence.
