Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Operative with strong horticultural knowledge to join our team in London. This is a hands-on role maintaining gardens, grounds, and landscaped areas across multiple sites. The ideal candidate will be confident operating machinery such as hedge cutters, ride-on and pedestrian mowers, and other garden maintenance tools, while demonstrating a thorough understanding of plants and shrubs.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain gardens, hedges, lawns, and flower beds to a high standard
- Operate and maintain horticultural machinery safely (mowers, hedge cutters, strimmers, etc.)
- Identify and care for plants, trees, and shrubs; advise on sun/shade suitability
- Assist with planting, pruning, and seasonal maintenance tasks
- Ensure tools and equipment are maintained and stored safely
- Work independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality results
Requirements
- RHS Level 2 (or equivalent) horticultural qualification preferred
- Strong knowledge of shrubs, plants, and trees, including sun/shade requirements
- Experience operating hedge cutters, mowers, and other horticultural machinery
- Practical, hands-on approach with attention to detail
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
