Senior Estimator - Flat Roofing
Salary: £75,000 + Discretionary Bonus
Car Allowance: £5,000
Pension: 8%
Private Healthcare: After successful completion of probation
Location: Office-based / commutable to HQ
The Role
An established and successful construction business is looking for an experienced Senior Estimator to join their team.
This is a senior position suited to an experienced estimator with a strong background in flat roofing, tendering and working with major Tier 1 contractors.
You will be responsible for managing tenders from initial enquiry through to submission, ensuring accurate, competitive and commercially sound pricing.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing accurate and competitive tenders from enquiry through to submission.
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, scopes and contract documentation.
- Carrying out detailed quantity take-offs and measurements.
- Pricing labour, materials, plant and subcontract packages.
- Tendering for major Tier 1 contractors and construction clients.
- Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations.
- Identifying commercial risks, opportunities and potential project issues.
- Preparing tender submissions and supporting documentation.
- Working closely with commercial and operational teams.
- Maintaining accurate estimating records and tender information.
- Ensuring tenders are submitted accurately and within deadlines.
Requirements
- 10+ years' estimating experience, including at least 3 years at Senior Estimator level.
- Proven experience tendering for Tier 1 contractors, such as Bovis/Lendlease, Mace, Skanska, Sir Robert McAlpine, Wates, Multiplex or similar.
- Strong knowledge and experience within flat roofing.
- Landscaping experience or knowledge would be advantageous.
- Strong understanding of JCT Design & Build subcontracts.
- Confident using take-off software.
- Strong Excel, Word and Outlook skills.
- Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines effectively.
- Must be able to commute to the company's HQ.
