The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to join a well-established principal contractor specialising in retail and leisure fit-out and refurbishment projects.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong shopfitting background who has progressed through Site Management into Project or Contracts Management.
You will be responsible for delivering multiple fast-paced projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple fit-out and refurbishment projects from inception through to completion.
- Deliver projects valued between £100,000 and £1 million.
- Oversee programmes typically lasting 3–10 weeks.
- Manage project teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with client expectations.
- Monitor project budgets, programmes and quality standards.
- Liaise effectively with clients, stakeholders and internal teams throughout each project.
- Manage projects involving day shifts, night works and weekend working where required.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' Project Management experience within the construction industry.
- Strong shopfitting background.
- Previous experience working for a Principal Contractor.
- Experience in Retail and Leisure fit-out and refurbishment projects.
- Previous Contracts Manager experience is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to manage multiple live projects simultaneously.
- Excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills.
- Good knowledge of construction legislation and industry standards.
- Proficient in Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- Must hold a Black CSCS Manager Card.
- Candidates should live within a reasonable commuting distance of Lichfield.
Experience Working On
Applicants with experience delivering projects for major retail and leisure clients will be highly regarded, including supermarkets, retail chains, coffee shops, cinemas, leisure facilities and similar commercial environments.
