QS / Commercial Manager – Office Fit-Out Hatfield £50,000–£80,000 per annum DOE We are currently seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager to join an established and growing fit-out contractor on a permanent basis, working on high-quality office fit-out and refurbishment projects across Hertfordshire and the surrounding areas. The Role You will be responsible for the commercial management of office fit-out projects from pre-construction through to completion and final account. Key responsibilities include: * Managing the commercial performance of projects * Preparing budgets, forecasts and cost reports * Procurement and management of subcontract packages * Preparing and agreeing valuations and applications for payment * Managing variations, change and commercial risk * Reviewing and negotiating subcontractor accounts * Cost control and cash-flow management * Preparing and agreeing final accounts * Working closely with Project Managers and site teams * Maintaining strong client and subcontractor relationships * Providing commercial advice throughout the project lifecycle Experience Required The successful candidate will ideally have: * 3+ years' experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within construction or fit-out * Experience working on office fit-out, refurbishment or commercial interiors projects * Strong knowledge of subcontractor procurement and package management * Experience managing variations, valuations and final accounts * Good understanding of construction contracts and commercial processes * Strong commercial and financial awareness * Excellent negotiation and communication skills * Ability to manage multiple projects or packages effectively * Strong attention to detail and organisational skills * A proactive approach and the ability to work independently Candidates with experience as a Quantity Surveyor, Senior Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager will be considered. Relevant qualifications such as RICS, CIOB, HNC/HND or a degree in Quantity Surveying/Construction would be advantageous but are not essential where the candidate has strong relevant experience.
