Overview

We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join a growing construction business specialising in fit-out and refurbishment projects. The role requires a commercially focused individual who can manage multiple projects and contribute to successful project delivery from pre-contract through to completion. The position will be based from our Kent office, transitioning to our Gravesend office, with a blend of office and site-based working.

Responsibilities

  • Managing multiple fit-out and refurbishment projects from pre-contract through to final account
  • Full responsibility for contract administration and compliance
  • Working closely with the commercial team to control costs, variations, and profitability
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to agreed quality standards
  • Overseeing site teams and supporting project delivery
  • Identifying, managing, and mitigating contractual and commercial risks
  • Providing regular progress and financial reports to senior management

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience working as a Contracts Manager or in a similar role
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of construction contracts
  • Background in fit-out and refurbishment projects (essential)
  • Solid experience in contract administration and cost control
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills
  • Full UK driving licence preferred

Working Pattern

  • 2-3 days per week office-based
  • Remaining time site-based
