We are seeking an experienced Estimator with a strong background in general building and Tier 2 contracting. The successful candidate will join a busy team to prepare accurate and competitive estimates, cost plans, and tender documentation for a variety of construction projects. This is a full-time, office-based role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and tender submissions for general building projects.
  • Analyse client and engineer specifications to produce accurate pricing.
  • Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to gather quotes and clarify scope.
  • Review and evaluate tenders, highlighting risks, opportunities, and value engineering options.
  • Maintain and update estimating databases, cost plans, and historical project information.
  • Support project managers and directors with commercial reporting and pre-construction advice.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a construction estimator, ideally in general building and Tier 2 contracting.
  • Strong knowledge of construction costs, methods, and UK building regulations.
  • Excellent numerical, analytical, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Confident in liaising with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
  • Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Must be office-based (no hybrid working).
