We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established commercial building contractor based in ME5 for an experienced Estimator to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an estimator with a strong background in commercial construction who is confident pricing projects from initial enquiry through to tender submission.
The Role
- Preparing accurate cost estimates and tender submissions.
- Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
- Obtaining and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations.
- Conducting site visits where required.
- Identifying value engineering opportunities.
- Working closely with the pre-construction and delivery teams to ensure competitive and profitable bids.
- Managing multiple tenders simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
Requirements
- Previous experience as an Estimator within the commercial building sector.
- Proven track record of estimating projects up to £25 million in value.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials and current market rates.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and estimating software.
Desirable
- HNC/HND or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline.
- Experience across sectors such as commercial, education, healthcare, industrial or mixed-use developments.
