Structural Steel Manager

We are looking for an experienced Structural Steel Manager to join an established business delivering structural steel projects across the UK.
This is a hands-on management role requiring someone who has previously taken full responsibility for running structural steel projects on site.
The Role
- Manage structural steel projects from mobilisation through to completion.
- Take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the site.
- Coordinate site activities, labour, subcontractors and deliveries.
- Manage programme, progress and site productivity.
- Ensure all works are delivered safely and to the required quality standards.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, engineers and other site teams.
- Monitor project progress and resolve issues on site.
- Ensure RAMS, permits and health & safety requirements are followed.
- Manage site documentation, reports and progress updates.
- Work on projects across the UK, with nationwide travel required.
- Predominantly site-based role.
About You
- Proven experience as a Structural Steel Manager.
- Must have experience running complete structural steel sites/projects independently.
- Strong structural steel background is essential.
- Must have progressed beyond trainee or assistant-level positions.
- Previous experience as a Site Manager/Project Manager specifically within structural steel will be considered.
- Strong understanding of structural steel installation and site operations.
- Confident managing subcontractors, labour and site activities.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Comfortable working nationwide and staying away as required.
- Important
Structural steel experience is essential.
This role is not suitable for
- Architectural steel specialists.
- Candidates who have only managed a steel package for a main contractor.
- Trainee or Assistant Site Managers who have worked under another manager without having overall site responsibility.
