Senior Quantity Surveyor – Freelance
Location: Derby City Centre Rate: £400 per day (approximately) Duration: Long-term freelance opportunity Start: ASAP
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a major new-build manufacturing facility project in Derby.
The successful candidate will have strong civil engineering, groundworks and new-build experience, ideally having worked on industrial or manufacturing developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Commercial management of a new-build manufacturing facility.
- Managing the commercial aspects of groundworks and civil engineering packages.
- Valuations, applications for payment and cost reporting.
- Managing variations, subcontractor accounts and payments.
- Procurement and management of subcontract packages.
- Cost forecasting and budget management.
- Working closely with the project and site teams.
- Managing commercial risks and identifying potential savings.
- Reviewing and agreeing subcontractor accounts.
- Supporting the delivery of drainage, foundations and associated groundworks.
- Maintaining accurate commercial records and reporting.
Experience Required
- Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor.
- Strong civil engineering and groundworks background.
- Experience with drainage and foundations.
- Experience working on new-build industrial, manufacturing or similar facilities.
- Understanding of typical groundworks associated with large industrial sheds.
- Strong subcontractor and commercial management experience.
- Excellent communication skills with clear spoken English.
- Able to work independently and take ownership of the commercial function.
