We are a Leicester-based construction specialist delivering high-quality cladding, façade, and remedial projects across the UK. We are seeking a Deputy Design Manager to support the Design Manager in coordinating and managing the design process from pre‑construction through to project completion. This role is critical in ensuring design compliance, coordination, and buildability, working closely with consultants, suppliers, and site teams to resolve technical and design‑related issues efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Design Manager in managing the design process from pre‑construction to project completion
  • Coordinate and manage design information between consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams
  • Review drawings, specifications, schedules, and technical submissions for accuracy and compliance
  • Support compliance with UK Building Regulations, industry standards, and project‑specific requirements
  • Assist the Design Manager with Building Safety Regulator (BSR) requirements, including Gateway submissions
  • Attend and contribute to site meetings, design workshops, and coordination meetings
  • Support the Design Manager in responding to site queries and resolving design‑related issues
  • Undertake site visits to understand construction progress and identify design impacts or risks
  • Assist in managing design changes and ensuring updates are communicated to relevant stakeholders
  • Actively develop technical, regulatory, and construction knowledge, particularly in façade and remedial works
Skills & Experience
  • Experience in a design, technical, or design coordination role within the construction industry
  • Strong understanding of the construction design process and full project lifecycle
  • Ability to read, interpret, and interrogate technical drawings and documentation
  • Knowledge of UK Building Regulations and familiarity with BSR processes
  • Understanding of passive fire protection principles, particularly relevant to cladding and façade systems
  • Experience using digital design management platforms (e.g. Procore, Viewpoint, Asite)
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD (2D and 3D)
  • Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to liaise effectively across teams
  • Organised, methodical, and capable of managing multiple workstreams
  • Proactive, solution‑focused, and pragmatic approach to problem‑solving
  • High attention to detail with a practical mindset
