About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join a well-established specialist contractor delivering high-quality heritage restoration and conservation projects across the Midlands and surrounding regions. This is a senior role overseeing up to 10 live projects, ensuring delivery to the highest standards of quality, safety, and conservation excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage up to 10 heritage restoration projects from pre-start through to completion
  • Oversee project programmes, budgets, variations, and final accounts
  • Lead and support Site Managers, subcontractors, and direct labour across multiple sites
  • Ensure compliance with conservation best practice, health & safety, and quality standards
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, conservation officers, and supply chain
  • Attend progress meetings and provide regular commercial and programme reporting
  • Contribute to tender reviews, planning, and risk management

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Contracts Manager (or Senior Project Manager) within heritage restoration, conservation, or traditional construction
  • Strong understanding of traditional materials and techniques (stone, brick, lime, timber, etc.)
  • Excellent commercial and contractual knowledge
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • Confident managing multiple concurrent projects
  • Full UK driving licence
