About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join a well-established specialist contractor delivering high-quality heritage restoration and conservation projects across the Midlands and surrounding regions. This is a senior role overseeing up to 10 live projects, ensuring delivery to the highest standards of quality, safety, and conservation excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage up to 10 heritage restoration projects from pre-start through to completion
- Oversee project programmes, budgets, variations, and final accounts
- Lead and support Site Managers, subcontractors, and direct labour across multiple sites
- Ensure compliance with conservation best practice, health & safety, and quality standards
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, conservation officers, and supply chain
- Attend progress meetings and provide regular commercial and programme reporting
- Contribute to tender reviews, planning, and risk management
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Contracts Manager (or Senior Project Manager) within heritage restoration, conservation, or traditional construction
- Strong understanding of traditional materials and techniques (stone, brick, lime, timber, etc.)
- Excellent commercial and contractual knowledge
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Confident managing multiple concurrent projects
- Full UK driving licence
