Buyer - Design & Build
Location: Luton
Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 + Benefits
An established Design & Build contractor is looking to recruit an experienced Buyer to join its commercial team based in Luton. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of projects, this is an excellent opportunity for a procurement professional looking to play a key role in delivering high-quality construction projects.
The Role
- Procure materials, plant and subcontract packages for multiple live projects.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Negotiate prices and secure the best value for the business.
- Monitor material costs and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
- Work closely with the Commercial and Project Management teams to ensure materials are delivered on time.
- Manage supplier performance and maintain procurement records.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Buyer within the construction industry.
- Design & Build contractor experience preferred.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Good commercial awareness.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
