The Opportunity
2025 represents a significant growth phase for the business, following the integration of complementary construction and specialist services. This has created a diversified offering across commercial landscaping, groundworks, restoration, structural repairs, and building maintenance.
This is a newly created, outbound-focused business development role, positioned to directly contribute to strong forecast revenue growth over the next two years and an extensive portfolio of complex projects. The role would suit a self-sufficient, driven Business Development or Senior Client Partner professional who thrives in a fast-scaling, ambitious environment and is motivated by building long-term client relationships and winning new work.
The Role
As Business Development Manager, you will play a central role in driving growth across both public and private sectors. You will identify new market opportunities, build strategic relationships with key procurement and decision-making contacts, and support the conversion of opportunities into revenue.
This is a hybrid hunter/farmer role, combining proactive lead generation with the ongoing development of existing client relationships. You will work closely with internal operational, finance, and marketing teams to ensure a seamless client experience from first contact through to contract award.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Growth: Identify new markets, customer segments, and growth opportunities within the construction, landscaping, and restoration sectors.
- Lead Generation: Actively generate new leads through outbound activity, networking, industry events, and strategic partnerships.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain long-term relationships with procurement contacts, stakeholders, and potential partners.
- Pipeline Management: Coordinate information between clients and internal teams to support the preparation of competitive proposals and presentations.
- Market Intelligence: Conduct market research, analyse data, and share insights to identify trends and strategic advantages.
- Reporting: Provide accurate performance reporting and revenue forecasts to senior management.

Essential Skills & Experience
- Industry Experience: 3–5 years’ experience in Business Development or Sales within the construction industry, across public and/or private sectors.
- Network: An existing network of industry contacts is highly desirable.
- Commercial Acumen: Proven experience in preparing proposals, negotiating contracts, and supporting revenue growth.
- Communication: Excellent presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills at all levels.
- Agility: Ability to multitask and perform effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related discipline (preferred).
