A growing general building contractor based in Bury is looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the team. With an annual turnover of approximately £4 million and individual project values up to £600k, this is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established contractor delivering a varied portfolio of construction projects across the region.
The Role
You will be responsible for the commercial management of multiple construction projects from pre-construction through to final account, working closely with the directors and operational teams. Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing cost plans, valuations, and final accounts
- Managing subcontractor procurement and payments
- Cost reporting and budget control
- Variations and contract administration
- Supporting project delivery teams commercially
- Liaising with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors
- Ensuring projects remain commercially viable and profitable
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor or general building environment
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience with projects up to £600k preferred
- Self-motivated with a hands-on approach
- Degree qualified or equivalent experience considered

- Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 depending on experience
