Role Purpose
Support the Health & Safety Manager/Fire Officer in delivering effective health and safety management across construction, refurbishment, and operational environments. The role focuses primarily on construction and refurbishment projects, with additional involvement in operational safety within care settings.
Key Responsibilities
Construction & Refurbishment
- Carry out Health & Safety audits on construction and refurbishment projects.
- Prepare risk assessments and Construction (Design and Management) documentation, including F10 notifications, Construction Phase Plans (CPPs), and RAMS.
- Provide Health & Safety guidance and support to maintenance operatives and site teams.
- Track and coordinate Health & Safety training for construction team members and subcontractors.
Operational Health & Safety
- Conduct operational audits, including water safety and COSHH assessments.
- Monitor water safety audits and ensure actions are completed within agreed timescales.
- Provide practical advice and support to operational teams.
Qualifications & Experience
- NEBOSH Occupational Health & Safety qualification.
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate (desirable or working towards) with relevant construction experience.
- Enhanced Adult and Child DBS clearance.
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation and best practice.
- Asbestos Awareness.
- Legionella Awareness (desirable or working towards).
- Experience within care or residential environments advantageous but not essential.
Key Skills & Attributes
- Full UK driving licence.
- Proactive, flexible, and able to work under pressure.
- Methodical, organised, and process-driven.
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively.
- Willing to take a hands-on, practical approach when required.
