An IT support company are looking for technically skilled candidates with excellent interpersonal skills for this technical support position.
The engineer will be expected to troubleshoot technical issues, provide timely customer feedback, and support the roll-out of new applications, among other duties.
As a technical support engineer, you will be required to talk to clients directly, as well as create written documentation, requiring good written and verbal communication.
Responsibilities
Respond to technical support calls from end users of computers and software applications.
Set up and install new computers and software.
Set up user accounts and profiles on the network.
Install patches to software applications.
Install and configure operating systems, anti-virus software and other applications such as Microsoft Office.
Diagnose and fixing network connectivity problems and hardware or software faults.
Maintain inventories of hardware and software using the Hudu asset management system.
Keeping a record of issues and faults along with solutions using the Zendesk ticketing system.
Requirements
Proven work experience as a Desktop support engineer.
Knowledge of computer hardware and networking systems.
Proven experience of MS Windows.
Knowledge of Apple Mac operating systems.
Good time management skills.
Good interpersonal skills.
Ability to troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues.
A good logical approach to solving problems.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to think critically.
