This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional who enjoys client‑facing advisory work and is looking to develop their career within a consultancy environment.
Working closely with a Senior HR Consultant, you’ll support a portfolio of external clients, providing pragmatic, commercially‑mindful HR advice across the full employee lifecycle, while also contributing to the growth of the HR consultancy offering.
What you’ll be doing:
- Providing high‑quality HR advice and support across a broad range of generalist areas, including employee relations, absence and performance management, recruitment and onboarding.
- Supporting clients with disciplinary, grievance and capability matters, ensuring fair process and legal compliance, escalating complex cases where required.
- Managing recruitment activity for client vacancies, including advertising roles, shortlisting, first‑stage interviews and coordinating interviews.
- Advising on contracts, new starter processes, probation, leavers, dismissals and appeals, including conducting exit interviews when requested.
- Supporting clients with employee lifecycle matters such as family leave, flexible working requests and policy implementation.
- Delivering line manager training on core HR topics such as D&G handling and mental health awareness.
- Keeping up to date with employment legislation and advising clients on best practice and policy updates.
- Assisting with business development activity, including networking events, social media content, awareness sessions and following up new business leads.
What we’re looking for:
- You’ll bring proven experience in a generalist HR role, ideally within a client‑facing or advisory environment, with a strong working knowledge of employment legislation.
- You’ll be comfortable advising across a wide range of HR matters including recruitment, employee relations, and performance and absence management.
- CIPD membership (Level 5) or equivalent experience is desirable.
- You’ll be a confident, professional communicator, able to build effective relationships at all levels, manage multiple priorities and deliver to deadlines.
- A proactive, solution‑focused and commercially aware approach is essential, along with a full driving licence and willingness to travel occasionally to client sites.
