We are seeking a technically skilled Podcast Studio Manager to lead the daily operations of our podcast studio. You will be the go-to expert who ensures every recording session runs smoothly, combining deep knowledge of both audio engineering and video production with the organisational skills to manage a busy studio environment. You will be hands-on during productions, setting up microphones, operating cameras, mixing audio in real-time, whilst also thinking strategically about how to optimise our resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Studio Operations & Production
    • Oversee podcast recording sessions from pre‐production through post‐production delivery.
    • Operate and maintain professional audio equipment including microphones, mixers, interfaces, and DAWs.
    • Set up and operate camera systems for video podcast recordings, ensuring proper framing, lighting, and video quality.
    • Troubleshoot technical issues in real‐time and maintain studio booking calendar.
  • Technical Management
    • Ensure all audio and video equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and functioning optimally.
    • Stay current with industry trends and recommend equipment upgrades.
    • Develop and maintain SOPs for studio equipment and workflows.
    • Train team members and guests on proper equipment use.
  • Cross‐Team Coordination
    • Coordinate shared equipment usage with video production team to prevent scheduling conflicts.
    • Develop efficient systems for equipment sharing, including checkout procedures and maintenance responsibilities.
    • Facilitate communication regarding resource allocation and project timelines.
    • Coordinate shared team member schedules to maximise productivity across both functions.
  • Quality Control
    • Establish and enforce quality standards for audio and video output.
    • Review recordings for technical quality before handoff to post‐production.
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years' professional experience in audio production, with podcast or broadcast recording expertise.
  • Strong working knowledge of video production, including camera operation, lighting, and video signal flow.
  • Proficiency with professional audio equipment and DAWs (Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Adobe Audition, or similar).
  • Experience with video cameras, lighting equipment, and video recording workflows.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues under pressure.
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with experience coordinating across multiple teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing a podcast studio or similar production environment.
  • Knowledge of live streaming and video encoding.
  • Familiarity with content management systems and media asset management.
  • Experience with budget management and vendor relationships.
