At our Christchurch / JLR site, we're looking for a passionate and skilled Vehicle Technician to become part of a high-performing, professional team that takes pride in delivering outstanding results and first-class customer experiences.

The Opportunity:

  • Conducting full examinations of vehicles (including electronic vehicle health checks);
  • Identify non-routine defects and faults either in the workshop or during vehicle road tests;
  • Undertake timely repair and servicing of customer vehicles in accordance with technical standards;
  • Provide a knowledgeable, courteous, responsive, and efficient service to all colleagues and workshop customers;
  • Work closely with the front of house service team, ensuring they are kept informed of the progress on customer vehicles and are fully briefed on work completed;
  • Discuss technical issues/works directly with customers when requested;
  • Offer technical advice and support to workshop apprentices;
  • Work with the wider workshop team to design and implement new methods of work to improve efficiency.

You will need to be an experienced Vehicle Technician (ideally from a main dealer/franchise environment); have relevant formal qualification (NVQ Level 3 / IMI / City & Guilds); ability to work within defined processes and guidelines, and to promote best practice throughout the workshop; be customer focused, possess good communication skills with the ability to explain technical information to a non-technical audience; have a first-time fix mentality; committed to the development of your technical knowledge and skills; be a team player, whether mentoring or supporting other Technicians; an MOT license would be highly advantageous, but not essential; a confident driver with a full UK driving license; have a passion for the industry and a desire to succeed.

Hendy Induction - please be advised that any new starters joining the business from the 1st June will in their first week be expected to attend a structured induction programme that will involve 2 days at our training academy in Portsmouth. More details will be shared at interview.
