At our Tonbridge/Ford, Honda site we are looking to recruit a Vehicle Technician to join this high‑performing team.

Opportunity

  • Conducting full examinations of vehicles (including electronic vehicle health checks)
  • Identifying non‑routine defects and faults either in the workshop or during vehicle road tests
  • Undertaking timely repair and servicing of customer vehicles in accordance with technical standards
  • Providing a knowledgeable, courteous, responsive, and efficient service to all colleagues and workshop customers
  • Working closely with the front‑of‑house service team, ensuring they are kept informed of the progress on customer vehicles and are fully briefed on work completed
  • Discussing technical issues/works directly with customers when requested
  • Offering technical advice and support to workshop apprentices
  • Collaborating with the wider workshop team to design and implement new methods of work to improve efficiency

Induction

Hendy Induction – please be advised that any new starters joining the business from 1 June will, in their first week, be expected to attend a structured induction programme that will involve 2 days at our training academy in Portsmouth. More details will be shared at interview.

About You

  • Experience as a Vehicle Technician, ideally from a main dealer/franchise environment
  • Relevant formal qualification (NVQ Level 3 / IMI / City & Guilds)
  • Ability to work within defined processes and guidelines, and to promote best practice throughout the workshop
  • Customer‑focused with strong communication skills, able to explain technical information to a non‑technical audience
  • First‑time fix mentality
  • Committed to the development of your technical knowledge and skills
  • Team player, whether mentoring or supporting other technicians
  • Possession of an MOT licence is highly advantageous, but not essential
  • Confident driver with a full UK driving licence
  • Passion for the industry and a desire to succeed
