Purpose of the Role:
This role forms part of the Heritage and TPC Build Team and will contribute to the build, assembly and running of formula one cars, collaborating across multiple functions and departments at and away from the McLaren Technology Centre.
Principal Accountabilities:

The build and preparation of Formula One cars, transmission assemblies, sub-assemblies and support equipment.

Supporting the running and servicing of cars at events worldwide.

Building to exact McLaren standards.

Always ensuring tasks are completed right first time and often to tight deadlines and in a pressurised environment both at and away from the McLaren Technology Centre.

Responsible for ensuring that all parts are built to a known configuration.

Car conformance to the Build Specification.

Communicate build related quality issues to the appropriate key stakeholders.

Operate to a ‘zero fault’ working ethos.

Become an integral member of the Build Team, providing support to all team members.

The role may consist of unsociable hours often at short notice and may involve significant time away from home.

Show a high level of detail to their work and be able to communicate effectively.

Occasional support to other operational areas of the business during busy periods.

Always operate and maintain Health and Safety Guidelines and compliance both at and away from McLaren Technology Centre.
Job requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

Experience of delivering quality components to extremely tight and demanding deadlines with conflicting priorities.

Experience of working in a highly technical environment.

Ability to interpret engineering specifications and drawings.

Ability to contribute to car component fault diagnosis process.

Evidence of a strong understanding of modern Formula One systems and components.

Previous experience of working in a motorsport environment.

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
