As part of our mission to connect with our customers and get the basics right, we are creating a brand-new team of Community Caretakers at Hafod who will be the first point of contact for our customers, acting as a visible presence on estates working to maintain and improve the quality of the community environment for all tenants and residents. Our team will be working together to support the wide range of Hafod's estates across our regional teams and we are looking for community caretakers for Cardiff (including Newport and Torfaen region).
What you’ll do
- You’ll help make sure we meet all the right standards and more importantly, help keep people safe.
- You will be a visible and approachable representative for Hafod on sites and estates across that region – acting as a first point of contact for residents and responding quickly to requests or concerns with professionalism and empathy.
- You should have a good eye for detail and experience conducting regular estate inspections, reporting any defects and/or health and safety concerns, cleaning, and maintenance (internally and externally).
- You’ll spot and report issues such as fly-tipping, abandoned vehicles, repairs, and anti-social behaviour, helping to resolve problems swiftly and maintain a safe environment.
- You’ll make sure our estates remain clean, safe, and welcoming by delivering a first-class caretaking and cleaning service across communal and external areas.
- You’ll handle a wide range of daily tasks, from sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping to graffiti removal, bulk waste clearance, and litter picking, ensuring every space feels cared for and well-maintained.
What you’ll need
- Applicants must hold a valid Category B (Cat B) driving licence as you will be required to drive company vehicles for work use only.
- You will be an expert in resolving a variety of maintenance issues including light painting, basic carpentry, basic electrical tasks, and minor plumbing.
- These roles will take responsibility for ensuring that the overall appearance and environment for tenants and residents is first-class.
