The Role
We're looking for an experienced Information Security Operations Manager to lead and mature a Security Operations (SOC) function. This is a hands-on, operational role focused on improving detection, response, and incident readiness - not a compliance or GRC-led position.
You'll manage a small SOC team, own the relationship with a Managed Detection & Response (MDR) provider, and drive continuous improvement across security operations, tooling, and processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a small SOC team (2 SOC Analysts and an interim resource)
- Own and optimise the clear day-to-day relationship with an MDR provider
- Improve SOC maturity, playbooks, and incident response capability
- Lead security monitoring, triage, and incident response activities
- Build strong relationships across technology and business teams
- Drive a Security Operations improvement roadmap
- Produce meaningful operational metrics, KPIs, and reporting
Technology & Environment
- Strong focus on Azure and cloud security
- Experience across IAM, modern security architectures, and cloud-native tooling
- Operational, detection-and-response-led security environment
What This Role Is Not
- Not GDPR-, ISO-, or risk-framework-led
- Not a pure compliance or GRC role
- Not policy- or audit-heavy

Experience & Skills
- Proven experience managing or leading Security Operations / SOC functions
- Hands-on experience working with MDR providers
- Strong operational incident response background
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to influence, lead, and improve in a fast-paced environment
Certifications (Desirable)
- CISSP and/or CISM
Highly remote working (max 1 day per week in office - Wednesdays preferred)
