Position Available: Manufacturing Test Engineer

Location: Hertfordshire

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 + Bonus

Experience needed: We're seeking an experienced Test Engineer with a strong background in testing and fault-finding electrical and electronic assemblies. You should understand analogue and digital electronics, manual and automated test equipment, and component-level diagnosis within a manufacturing environment.

About the role: An opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Test Engineer to support the testing and diagnostics of electrical and electronic sub-systems and circuit cards. You'll provide technical support from initial development through to production, working closely with manufacturing and design teams to introduce test equipment, resolve failures and ensure products meet time, cost and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Test Engineering activities from development through to production
  • Test electrical and electronic assemblies and circuit cards
  • Diagnose test failures down to component level
  • Support the introduction of new test equipment and fixtures
  • Produce test specifications, instructions and technical documentation
  • Work with design teams to improve product testability
  • Support prototype functional and environmental testing
  • Contribute to process FMEA and continuous improvement activities

What we need from you:

  • HNC, HND, degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering subject
  • Experience in the manufacture and testing of analogue and digital electronics
  • Strong knowledge of electrical and electronic measurement and test principles
  • Experience fault-finding electronic or electro-mechanical assemblies to component level
  • Familiarity with manual and automated test equipment
  • Ability to produce clear test specifications, operator instructions and technical reports
  • Familiarity with SAP or MES would be advantageous
