An established construction materials manufacturer is seeking a determined and resilient Specification Sales Manager to drive sales of its façade systems and architectural product range. The role involves working closely with architects, contractors, distributors, consultants, engineers, and building control teams to secure correct specification and successful project conversion.
The successful candidate will be based in the X region. This is a home-based role, requiring regular regional travel and occasional visits to the UK head office.
Duties of the Role
- Identify new business development opportunities and manage relationships through to project completion
- Secure product specification within the defined region and manage projects through to order placement
- Manage and develop key accounts
- Deliver technical presentations demonstrating compliance with current and future Building Regulations, supported by comprehensive test data
- Deliver Continuous Professional Development (CPD) presentations to construction industry professionals
- Visit construction sites to deliver toolbox talks and carry out limited installation checks
- Follow up enquiries with contractors and support sales through distribution routes
- Utilise project databases to identify and target suitable opportunities
- Build and manage relationships with key project decision-makers, including architects, consultants, designers, engineers, contractors, and installers
- Proactively generate new business through calls, meetings, and follow-ups
- Attend trade shows, seminars, conferences, and industry events, supported by an experienced in-house sales and marketing team
- Achieve sales targets and provide regular performance reports
- Develop long-term relationships with architects, engineers, key accounts, contractors, installers, and end users
Education and Training
- Proven experience in construction materials specification sales
- Strong knowledge and experience within the façades market
- Established network of contacts within the façade sector, particularly façade contractors
- Strong understanding of construction procurement processes and contract types to ensure effective project tracking and conversion
- Full UK driving licence with flexibility and willingness to travel as required
