PSA Engineer – Dispatcher Training Simulator (DTS)
Edinburgh (Can be remote first)
Salary Neg D.O.E
Do you have hands-on experience with Energy Management System (EMS) / Generation Monitoring and Control applications? if so our client is keen to speak with you, we have a number of exciting roles available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Validate models and resolve defects within the DTS system.
- Execute technical corrective actions to restore failed or degraded technical services on the EMS system.
- Perform code reviews, deployments, testing, and monitoring of break/fix patches and system modifications.
Your Profile:
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Skilled in administering and optimizing Energy Management Systems (EMS) through application configuration, performance tuning, and security patching-ideally on GE PowerOn Reliance (XA21) and/or AEMS Platform Software, or equivalent platforms such as those from Siemens, OSI, ABB, or Schneider.
- Hands-on experience with Simulated RTUs, Simulated IEDs, and Consoles.
- Strong understanding of communication protocols and data formats, including ICCP, IEC, DNP3, Modbus, Data Modeling, XML, and JSON.
- Proficient in both Linux and Windows operating environments.
- Familiarity with relational databases such as Oracle and SQL Server.
- Solid background in power system applications, including Power Flow, State Estimator, Contingency Analysis, Load Frequency Control (AGC), and Dispatcher Training Simulator (DTS)-with proven expertise in model validation and event creation.
- Experience with system integration and scripting using C, C++, PERL, SQL, Shell scripting, or similar languages, with strong skills in log analysis and debugging.
- Demonstrated experience applying and managing software fixes on live customer systems.
