– Dispatcher Training Simulator (DTS) Edinburgh (Can be remote first) Salary Neg D.O.E Do you have hands-on experience with Energy Management System (EMS) / Generation Monitoring and Control applications? if so our client is keen to speak with you, we have a number of exciting roles available.
Key Responsibilities: Validate models and resolve defects within the DTS system.
Execute technical corrective actions to restore failed or degraded technical services on the EMS system.
Perform code reviews, deployments, testing, and monitoring of break/fix patches and system modifications.
Your Profile: Essential Skills and Experience: Skilled in administering and optimizing Energy Management Systems (EMS) through application configuration, performance tuning, and security patching-ideally on GE PowerOn Reliance (XA21) and/or AEMS Platform Software, or equivalent platforms such as those from Siemens, OSI, ABB, or Schneider.
Hands-on experience with Simulated RTUs, Simulated IEDs, and Consoles.
Strong understanding of communication protocols and data formats, including ICCP, IEC, DNP3, Modbus, Data Modeling, XML, and JSON.
Proficient in both Linux and Windows operating environments.
Familiarity with relational databases such as Oracle and SQL Server.
Solid background in power system applications, including Power Flow, State Estimator, Contingency Analysis, Load Frequency Control (AGC), and Dispatcher Training Simulator (DTS)-with proven expertise in model validation and event creation.
Experience with system integration and scripting using C, C++, PERL, SQL, Shell scripting, or similar languages, with strong skills in log analysis and debugging.
Demonstrated experience applying and managing software fixes on live customer systems.
