The Opportunity
A leading regional law firm is seeking an experienced Head of Conveyancing / Residential Property Solicitor to lead, develop and grow its Residential Property team based in Manchester.
This is an excellent opportunity for a driven and commercially minded property lawyer looking to take the next step into a senior leadership position. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a busy residential property department, driving business growth, mentoring team members and contributing to the firm's wider strategic objectives.
The role would suit an established solicitor with strong technical expertise, proven leadership experience and the ability to attract and retain clients, referrers and work sources.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Residential Property team, providing supervision, mentoring and support.
- Oversee a varied caseload of residential conveyancing matters from instruction through to completion.
- Drive the continued growth and success of the department.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, estate agents, brokers and other referrers.
- Play an active role in business development and networking activities.
- Help recruit, develop and retain talented fee earners and support staff.
- Ensure high standards of client service, compliance and risk management.
- Contribute to the strategic direction and growth of the property offering.
Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive or Licensed Conveyancer with 5+ years' PQE.
- Significant experience handling a broad range of residential property transactions.
- Proven leadership or management experience within a conveyancing team.
- Able to bring existing client relationships, referral networks and work opportunities.
- Commercially aware with a proactive approach to business development.
