We are seeking an experienced Solaris / Unix Engineer to join a busy infrastructure team supporting a business-critical Solaris estate. This role will focus on the support, maintenance and ongoing improvement of Solaris platforms within a complex enterprise environment. We're looking for a hands-on infrastructure professional with strong Solaris administration skills and a solid background in Unix systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain Oracle Solaris environments
  • Perform system administration, patching and upgrades
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot complex technical issues
  • Develop and maintain shell scripts to support automation and operational activities
  • Work closely with wider infrastructure and virtualisation teams
  • Support ongoing platform improvement and infrastructure projects
  • Contribute to system documentation and operational procedures

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong Oracle Solaris administration experience
  • Solid Unix systems administration background
  • Shell scripting experience (KSH, KornShell, Bash or similar)
  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale infrastructure environments
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working within complex operational environments
