Salary: £130,000 - 136,500 per year
Requirements
- Active SC Clearance (mandatory)
- Extensive commercial experience as a PostgreSQL DBA
- Proven AWS cloud experience, specifically with Amazon Aurora (PostgreSQL-compatible) and Amazon RDS
- Strong background in performance tuning, indexing strategies, and troubleshooting query bottlenecks
- Experience in public sector or secure environments is highly advantageous
Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and manage PostgreSQL, Amazon Aurora, and Amazon RDS instances
- Tune database performance, troubleshoot slow queries, and conduct proactive monitoring
- Execute schema updates, migrations, and engine upgrades safely in cloud environments
- Support disaster recovery, backup protocols, and high-availability setups
- Collaborate with software, engineering, DevOps, and infrastructure teams on database design best practices
- Help ensure optimal performance, high availability, and adherence to government security standards
