Position Available: Configuration Manager

Location: Hertfordshire (Hybrid – 2 days in office per week)

Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 + Benefits

Experience needed: Proven experience in applying and leading Configuration Management practices within a complex engineering environment such as aerospace, automotive, defence or manufacturing.

About the role:

We are seeking an experienced Configuration Manager to work on some of the most advanced and innovative engineering programmes in the UK. This role is key to maintaining the integrity and control of technical data and documentation across the full lifecycle of highly complex products.

You\’ll work closely with cross-functional teams across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and project management to ensure robust configuration governance is in place from concept through to delivery and in-service support. You will play a strategic and hands-on role, leading the implementation of configuration management principles and driving improvements to policy, process, and tooling.

What we need from you:

  • Strong experience in Configuration Management, ideally within complex manufacturing or engineering environments
  • Strong understanding of configuration principles, processes, and standards
  • Proven ability to plan and deliver configuration activities, including baseline management, version control, and change management
  • Experience analysing and improving configuration processes, with a focus on compliance, traceability, and product integrity
  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders and enforce process adherence across multidisciplinary teams
  • It would be beneficial to have a background of working in complex product development environments
