The firm is widely recognised as a market leader in real estate, private client, family and trust matters, regularly acting for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals, families, trustees and landed estate owners across the UK. Consistently ranked in both Chambers and Legal 500, the firm is known for handling complex, high-value matters and offering genuine long-term career progression.

The Role

Joining a specialist rural property team, you will advise a prestigious client base on a broad range of landed estate, agricultural and rural property matters. The work combines both transactional and advisory elements.

Recent work undertaken by the team includes:

  • Sales and acquisitions of significant agricultural estates and country properties
  • Complex easement and rights over high-value rural land holdings
  • Estate management and strategic advice for farming and landed estate clients
  • Agricultural tenancies and Agricultural Holdings Act matters
  • Succession planning and generational transition of farming businesses
  • Diversification projects, including renewable energy, mineral rights, natural capital and carbon trading initiatives
  • Planning, title and unregistered land issues

The successful candidate will enjoy a high level of client contact and responsibility while working with a nationally recognised practice.

About You

  • Qualified Solicitor with experience in rural property, agricultural law or landed estates work
  • Strong technical grounding and excellent academics
  • Comfortable managing transactions independently
  • Ability to supervise and support junior lawyers
  • Genuine interest in rural affairs, environmental policy and countryside issues
  • Experience of agricultural tenancies, unregistered land, easements and related rural property matters would be advantageous

This role would suit someone looking to take a visible role within a growing specialist practice, develop client relationships and contribute to business development initiatives.
