A prestigious, Silver Circle law firm with a strong presence across major financial centres worldwide is seeking a Private Equity Solicitor (5-6 PQE) to join its Corporate Transactions team in London . Renowned for its excellence, commercial insight, and commitment to client service, the firm advises corporates, financial institutions, and private equity sponsors on high-profile, cross-border transactions.
The Role
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced solicitor to work on some of the most significant and high-value deals in the private equity sector. The role offers the chance to act for leading private equity sponsors, investors, and portfolio companies on complex transactions, including leveraged buyouts, growth capital, venture capital, and exit strategies.
The successful candidate will have significant exposure to multi-jurisdictional matters and will play a leading role in the execution and management of deals. This position offers a platform to build client relationships and develop leadership skills, with access to first-rate training, development, and progression opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Advising on a range of private equity transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures, and co-investments.
- Acting as a key point of contact for private equity sponsors, investors, and portfolio companies.
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating transaction documents, such as SPAs, investment agreements, and shareholder agreements.
- Managing and coordinating multi-jurisdictional projects, collaborating with colleagues from the firm’s global network of offices.
- Providing commercial, solutions-focused advice to clients, ensuring efficient deal execution.
- Mentoring and supervising junior lawyers and trainees within the team.
Candidate Profile
The firm is seeking a driven and commercially astute lawyer with the following attributes:
- 5-6 years’ PQE with demonstrable experience in private equity, corporate M&A, or related transactional work from a leading UK or international law firm.
- A strong technical understanding of private equity deal structures, with experience managing large, multi-jurisdictional transactions.
- The ability to build and maintain strong client relationships, coupled with a proactive, client-focused approach.
- Excellent drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proven leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to mentor junior members of the team.
