We are seeking a skilled Cost Engineer with a background in estimating, manufacturing, or engineering. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and the ability to influence decision-making through robust cost estimates.
About the role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Cost Engineer/Modeller to join our UK Bidding and Contract Evaluation (BCE) team. You will play a key role in delivering independent cost estimates to support decision-making for future concepts and programmes covering the next 20+ years. The role involves working on a diverse range of concepts and technologies, collaborating with senior stakeholders across various teams. You will help define target costs, balancing military capability and affordability to ensure value-for-money proposals for our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and provide independent cost estimates to support future product development and decision-making
- Collaborate with engineering and project teams to align scope with budget
- Support trade-off discussions between scope and cost to maintain affordability
- Work closely with key stakeholders, including Chief Engineers and Executives
- Contribute to cost modelling and estimation techniques to enhance decision-making
- Ensure estimates are data-driven and support UK MoD budget planning
What we need from you:
- Experience in cost estimating, manufacturing, or engineering
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
