The Professional Negligence Associate role sits within a top tier Legal 500 boutique firm in London specialising in complex professional indemnity and negligence disputes. As a Professional Negligence Associate, you will join a highly regarded, partner-led team known for its technical excellence, commercial approach, and direct client engagement from day one.
This is a standout opportunity for a mid-level disputes lawyer to work on high-value, strategically significant cases involving financial advisers, solicitors, insurance brokers, surveyors and other regulated professionals. Responsibilities
Manage and support a varied caseload of professional negligence and professional indemnity matters, from instruction through to resolution.
Work closely with partners on complex, high-value disputes.
Engage directly with clients, experts and counsel, contributing to case strategy, pleadings, and settlement discussions.
Assist on matters involving financial services professionals, legal professionals, insurance brokers and construction-related disputes where relevant.
Apply strong technical analysis to liability, causation and loss assessment, supporting commercially focused outcomes.
Requirements
Approximately 3-7 years' PQE with a strong background in professional indemnity or professional negligence work.
Experience as a solicitor in disputes/insurance litigation or as an independent financial adviser with relevant technical exposure.
Strong understanding of negligence principles and professional liability frameworks.
Exposure to construction-related disputes is advantageous but not essential.
Confident communicator with the ability to manage responsibility and engage directly with clients and senior stakeholders.
