Location: Leigh-on-Sea
Hours: Full-time (Part-time considered) | Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:15 PM
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

An established and highly regarded law firm based in Leigh-on-Sea is seeking a Clinical Negligence & Personal Injury Solicitor to join its Litigation department. The successful candidate will join a busy team handling complex and meaningful cases, with a primary focus on clinical negligence claims. This role offers the chance to make a real difference in the lives of clients while building a strong legal career within a respected regional practice.

The Role
The position involves independently managing a caseload of clinical negligence and, where relevant, personal injury claims on behalf of claimants. Matters may involve GP negligence, hospital and dental errors, and treatment by private healthcare providers. The role requires a high level of client care, technical expertise, and commercial awareness. The successful candidate will be supported by an experienced team and will contribute to the growth and reputation of the department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage clinical negligence cases from initial instruction through to resolution.
  • Provide empathetic, high-quality legal advice in often sensitive circumstances.
  • Investigate liability and quantum, assess prospects, and advise on appropriate funding.
  • Draft witness statements, instructions to experts, and court documents.
  • Liaise with clients, experts, counsel, and insurers.
  • Prepare matters for litigation and attend court where necessary.
  • Accurately record time and meet individual billing targets.
  • Consider the commercial aspects of each claim throughout its lifecycle.
  • Participate in business development, marketing, and networking activities.
  • Comply with professional obligations and in-house financial procedures.

Candidate Profile

  • Qualified Solicitor (all levels of experience considered).
  • Strong interest or background in clinical negligence (personal injury experience advantageous).
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a full caseload with minimal supervision.
