HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE: As an Engineering Co-op, you will support the Manufacturing shop floor as well as the Upfit Centers’ processes. You may have a significant level of interaction and activity working with internal customers across different work areas. Some of the responsibilities you may have or assist with:
- Assist in conducting time observations for baseline analysis and benchmarking, and to assist in identifying waste in our manufacturing processes
- Assists department manager in the planning activities for production layout and process flow
- Reports findings regarding production flow deficiencies with layout, machines, material handling, labor, etc
- Assists in the Bill of Material process flow and in maintenance of routings through Engineering Change Request (ECR) process
- Participating in Kaizen events to realize rapid improvement in manufacturing processes
- Helping with fixture development to improve assembly process – focusing on cycle time reduction and cost savings.
- Learning and developing standard work documentation on standard products
