Rate of pay: Up to £13.25 per hour (depending on age). Full-Time and part-time positions available at 37.5 – 22.5 hours per week, working within the hours of Monday to Sunday, 9am to 8pm, with a degree of flexibility required.

At Henderson Retail, we have recently expanded our company-owned butchery operations and have exciting plans for future growth. As a Butchery Assistant, you will have the opportunity to undertake an accredited learning programme (subject to eligibility criteria) and develop your skills for potential future progression within Henderson Retail Butchery operations.
A look into the role: You’ll join our friendly team to deliver first class customer service, quality & presentation at the butchery counter, maintain great hygiene standards, prepare a range of pre-packed products and prepare meat for display following company standards.
Duties of the role will include:
- Cutting and preparing meat products to pre-set standards.
- Ensuring that all hygiene and cleanliness procedures are followed at all times.
- Providing an excellent counter service to our customers - listening to their needs and providing expert advice on our products.
Great training will also be provided, and there’ll be opportunities to progress your career within our Butchery Concessions as you develop your skills.
Skills for Success: We are looking for team members with personality, passion, energy and a positive attitude, who know how to make our customers smile and provide the very best experience. Due to the safety requirements within a butchery counter, candidates must be aged 18 years or above.
Desirable Skills:
- Previous retail experience or experience working within a customer facing role.
- Previous experience working within a meat/poultry service environment.
