Production Assistant
Pay rates £11.90‑£13.25 per hour depending on your age, plus benefits.
Working hours 24 hours per week, 6:00 am‑5:00 pm, Monday‑Sunday, with flexibility.
Location EUROSPAR/Texaco, Garvagh, 1 Main Street, Garvagh, Co. Londonderry, BT51 5AA.
Role Overview
Assist with movement, storage and rotation of goods in a fast‑paced kitchen environment, pack fresh products, maintain accurate labeling, and support the Head Chef.
Responsibilities
- Receive goods‑in ensuring legislative requirements, quality specifications and shelf life are met.
- Ensure effective stock rotation practices.
- Assist Chef and Head Chef with ingredient preparation as needed.
- Assist with stock control procedures and ordering.
- Keep machines and production areas clean and tidy.
- Ensure packaging and other items are stored correctly.
- Accurately record any damages or wastage.
- Prepare, clean, adjust and maintain printing equipment.
- Ensure accurate information is printed on labels and conforms to food labeling regulations.
- Print sufficient labels for the day's production.
- Perform any other duties as required for the role.
Skills for Success
- Previous experience working in a catering or hospitality kitchen.
- Flair and enthusiasm for cooking with fresh quality ingredients.
- Ability to deliver at pace while maintaining high quality of food.
Desirable
- Experience in a Fresh Food Production Kitchen.
- Previous supervisory experience.
- Experience working to budgets and/or targets.
- Good working knowledge of MS Office.
