A look into the role: Our Delish delis are a convenient place for our customers to stop for breakfast, lunch or great coffee on the go. We're looking for a special candidate who will lead our hard‑working and friendly team, making it all happen – from preparing delicious food, first‑class customer service at the deli counter, or maintaining great hygiene standards by keeping the prep and service areas clean. You'll be supported by a team of brilliant people, and there are fantastic career development and progression opportunities.
As Deli Manager you will:
- Listen to and understand our customers' needs and advise customers about our products and services.
- Provide a first class service to all of our customers.
- Allocate work duties to other members of the Delish Deli team to ensure all duties are covered and to maintain a high quality service at all times.
- Exercise and enforce constant watch over Health & Safety, Security, Discipline and Due Diligence.
- Carry out food safety control checks in all areas to ensure all standards are being maintained and recorded.
- Ensure stock is displayed in the correct position to attract sales, the correct price is displayed and waste recording procedure is being followed.
- Prepare and cook all food in line with company procedure and Health and Safety regulations.
- Ensure a high standard of cleanliness in the Delish Deli Department (front and back) is maintained at all times.
- Be accountable for the enforcement of all legislative demands/standards of fire, health, hygiene and safety and these conditions are strictly adhered to.
- Undertake other duties as required for the role.
Skills for Success:
- A passion for food…with a proven track record for delivering a fantastic customer experience in a similar role.
- At least 1 year's experience in a serviced food role, and you'll see your role as a profession, helping us to develop Delish Deli as a key destination for food on the go.
- At least 6 months' experience in leading a team.
- A positive attitude and a love for people…you'll inspire and motivate your team to be the best.
- Creative flair and an eye for detail, ensuring that excellent presentation and standards are maintained.
- Knowledge of Food Safety practices and procedures – you'll have minimum Level 2 qualification in Food Safety.
- Commercial Awareness, and ability to deliver on Key Performance Indicators such as sales, costs and profitability.
