Pre-Sales Consultant – Finance & Planning Specialist
Henderson Drake is recruiting on behalf of a fast‑growing CPM consultancy that is building serious momentum across the UK and Europe. This strategic, high‑visibility role is for someone who enjoys working with CFOs and FP&A leaders, shaping solution vision, and demonstrating how modern planning technology can replace spreadsheet‑heavy processes.
The Opportunity
You will partner closely with Sales to lead the pre‑sales cycle across mid‑market and enterprise clients. From discovery through to demonstration and solution design, you will help shape how customers modernise budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and scenario planning using Workday Adaptive Planning.
What You’ll Be Doing (Core Responsibilities)
- Leading discovery sessions with CFOs, Heads of FP&A, Finance Directors, and Controllers
- Delivering tailored Workday Adaptive Planning demonstrations
- Translating finance challenges into clear CPM solution value
- Supporting solution architecture, proposals, and Statements of Work
- Building ROI models and business cases
- Contributing to RFPs, RFIs, tenders, and demo scripts
- Staying current on product updates, roadmap, and competitors
- Representing the business at customer events, webinars, and briefings
- Feeding insight back into sales and go‑to‑market strategy
What They’re Looking For
- Qualified accountant or equivalent finance experience (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or similar)
- Hands‑on CPM / FP&A tool experience
- Workday Adaptive preferred; Anaplan, IBM Planning Analytics, Board also relevant
- Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, reporting, consolidation, and scenario planning
- Confident presenter who can build credibility with senior finance stakeholders
- Experience running or supporting technology demonstrations
- Commercial awareness and strong analytical thinking
