HD-Tech are proud to be partnering with one of our long-standing construction clients to recruit a talented Mechanical Services Design Engineer.\\n\\nThis is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading fit-out and refurbishment contractor, working on high-profile commercial projects across London and the South East.\\n\\nPosition: Mechanical Services Design Engineer\\n\\nLocation: London\\nReporting to: Mechanical Services Director\\n\\nOverview:\\n\\nYou will be an integral part of the pre-construction team, responsible for the design of HVAC, water, and waste services. Your focus will be on delivering compliant, high-quality, and scope-aligned designs from concept through to detailed stage.\\n\\nKey Responsibilities:\\n\\n * \\n\\n Assist in scoping and quantifying mechanical and public health services requirements\\n\\n * \\n\\n Develop detailed designs in line with performance specifications (including RIBA Stage 4)\\n\\n * \\n\\n Select appropriate mechanical plant and equipment\\n\\n * \\n\\n Conduct thermal modelling using IES or similar software\\n\\n * \\n\\n Produce detailed mechanical and PH layouts, schematics, and drawings using AutoCAD and Revit\\n\\n * \\n\\n Accurately size ductwork and pipework systems\\n\\n * \\n\\n Prepare equipment schedules (e.g., FCUs, AHUs, HRUs, attenuators, grilles, fire dampers)\\n\\n * \\n\\n Compile technical submissions and reports for client and consultant review\\n\\n * \\n\\n Coordinate designs with other building services to avoid clashes and ensure project integration\\n\\n * \\n\\n Carry out site surveys and provide ongoing design support throughout the project lifecycle\\n\\n * \\n\\n Ensure compliance with building regulations, health and safety standards, and best industry practices\\n\\n * \\n\\n Provide support and mentorship to junior engineers\\n\\n * \\n\\n Adhere to all internal quality, environmental, and health & safety policies\\n\\nSkills & Experience Required:\\n\\nEssential:\\n\\n * \\n\\n Minimum of 5 years’ experience in mechanical and public health services design\\n\\n * \\n\\n Proficient in AutoCAD\\n\\n * \\n\\n Degree qualified in Building Services Engineering or Mechanical Engineering\\n\\n * \\n\\n Strong understanding of thermodynamics and experience with thermal modelling software\\n\\nDesirable:\\n\\n * \\n\\n Experience in commercial D&B (Design & Build) projects\\n\\n * \\n\\n Proficiency with IES VE and Revit\\n\\n * \\n\\n Familiarity with AutoCAD MEP\\n\\n * \\n\\n Background in mechanical services design for commercial fit-out projects
