Fresh Seafood Category Buyer

Location: West London. Onsite (early starts), with flexibility once established

Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 + car allowance & bonus (negotiable)

Help shape one of the UK’s most important fresh categories.

We’re looking for a commercially minded Fresh Fish Category Manager to take full ownership of the seafood category. This is a fast-paced, hands-on role where your decisions will directly impact product quality, availability, and margin.

You’ll need strong industry knowledge, a passion for seafood, and the confidence to operate across the entire value chain – from early-morning market sourcing to strategic category planning.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Managing the seafood category from sourcing and pricing to merchandising and supplier relationships.
• Visiting the market to monitor stock and ensure product availability and accuracy.
• Acting as a key contact for both suppliers and internal teams across Commercial, Operations, and Transport.
• Collaborating with the Commercial Director on category strategy and commercial projects.
• Driving quality, freshness, and sustainable sourcing across all products.
• Keeping up to date with seafood trends and consumer preferences to inform decisions.

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven experience in buying or category management within seafood or fresh fish.
• A strong network and solid understanding of the UK seafood market.
• Confident negotiator with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Highly organised and commercially aware, with a strong attention to detail.
• Comfortable starting early initially (4am) and working onsite; flexibility available once established.

Package & Benefits:

• £50,000 – £55,000 depending on experience
• Car allowance (negotiable)
