We're partnering with a leading food manufacturer to recruit an experienced Quality Manager who will play a pivotal role in shaping the site's food safety and quality culture. This is an outstanding opportunity to lead the Quality and Laboratory functions, influence operational excellence, and ensure products consistently exceed customer, retailer, and regulatory expectations.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Lead the site's Quality and Laboratory teams, driving a culture of food safety, quality excellence, and continuous improvement across the manufacturing operation.
- Take ownership of HACCP, GMP, VACCP, TACCP, traceability, and Quality Management Systems, ensuring full compliance with BRCGS, customer Codes of Practice, and food safety legislation.
- Oversee laboratory operations, ensuring accurate microbiological and analytical testing, meaningful data analysis, and timely corrective actions to maintain process control.
- Drive site-wide quality performance through KPI management, trend analysis, root cause investigations, and initiatives to reduce complaints, rework, waste, product holds, and non-conformances.
- Lead customer complaint investigations and supplier quality performance, implementing robust corrective and preventative actions to improve product consistency and supplier compliance.
- Support customer, retailer, and third-party audits, ensuring the site remains audit-ready and delivers exceptional compliance against BRCGS and customer standards.
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, NPD, and Technical teams to deliver successful product launches, process improvements, and continuous quality enhancement projects.
- Coach, mentor, and influence teams across the business, embedding a proactive food safety culture and driving operational excellence at every level.
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience in a Quality Management or Senior QA leadership role within food manufacturing or FMCG.
- Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related discipline, with strong working knowledge of HACCP, GMP, BRCGS, TACCP, VACCP, and food safety legislation.
- Demonstrated success leading customer and third-party audits, laboratory operations, complaint investigations, and continuous improvement programmes.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive lasting cultural change.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a proactive approach to improving quality performance and operational standards.
