We’re recruiting for a Health, Safety & Environmental Officer to join a well‑established manufacturing business in the North East. This is a hands‑on role where you’ll work closely with managers and production teams to improve safety standards, reduce risk, drive environmental initiatives and create a positive safety culture across site.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Carrying out risk assessments and safety inspections
  • Investigating accidents, incidents and near misses
  • Supporting and improving Health, Safety & Environmental systems
  • Delivering safety training and toolbox talks
  • Leading and supporting internal audits
  • Working closely with operational teams to improve standards
  • Driving positive safety behaviours across site
  • Monitoring environmental performance and compliance
  • Ensuring legal and company compliance requirements are met

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience in a Health & Safety role within manufacturing, FMCG, production or a similar environment
  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation
  • Experience conducting risk assessments and investigations
  • Comfortable building relationships across all levels of a business
  • Confident communicator who can challenge when required
  • A proactive and practical approach to Health & Safety
