This is a shift‑based role (4 on / 4 off, rotating days and nights) working in a high‑volume manufacturing environment where no two days are the same. You’ll be keeping fast‑moving production and packaging lines running smoothly, fixing faults quickly, and helping to reduce downtime across site. You’ll be working with a range of equipment including conveyors, flow wrapping machines, heat sealers, labelling and coding systems. The focus is on keeping machines running safely, efficiently, and reliably. This is not just a breakdown role — you’ll also be involved in planned maintenance, problem solving, and helping improve machine performance across the site.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Responding to breakdowns and getting production back up and running quickly
  • Carrying out planned maintenance on production and packaging equipment
  • Fault finding on electrical and mechanical systems
  • Working closely with production teams to minimise downtime
  • Supporting continuous improvement and reliability projects
  • Making sure all equipment is safe, clean, and working correctly

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience as a Maintenance Engineer in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment
  • Electrical qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
  • Comfortable working on both electrical and mechanical faults
  • Experience with conveyors, packaging lines, or similar machinery
  • Able to work under pressure and stay calm when things go wrong
  • Strong communication skills and a team‑focused approach
  • Food manufacturing, FMCG or packaging background preferred

The offer:

  • 4 on / 4 off shift pattern (days and nights)
  • Modern, automated production environment
