People Development Manager
Location: Flexible UK location- must be based in a commutable distance to either of the following sites
- Heckington, Lincolnshire
- Bromborough, Wirral/Merseyside
- Sherburn in Elmet, North Yorkshire
Working arrangement: Full time, Mon-Fri (37.5 hours) with hybrid working
Salary: Up to £40k
Benefits: 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, HC cash plan, life assurance and hybrid working

A market leader in the UK food and drink industry, known for their heritage brands and commitment to people. As they continue to evolve, we are supporting in the recruitment of a People Development Manager to help build a high-performance culture across their operations.
If you’re confident designing and delivering impactful learning experiences and ready for more strategic ownership, this is your opportunity to take the lead. We’re looking for someone who can confidently navigate the day-to-day, while driving forward-thinking development initiatives that make a lasting difference.
Responsibilities include:
- Creating and rolling out training programmes—leadership, compliance, power skills, and more
- Coaching and mentoring managers and future leaders across the business
- Leading and supporting a network of on-site trainers focused on compliance and factory development
- Managing the LMS and developing a suite of digital learning content
- Partnering on apprenticeships, graduate programmes, and mentoring initiatives
- Owning learning budgets, external training providers, and reporting on learning outcomes
- Supporting succession planning and career development across all functions
- Delivering a people development strategy that builds capability, culture, and performance
Experience required:
- An L&D professional with the ambition and experience to take the next step into management
- You must have FMCG experience as you’ll be working across production, supply chain, and commercial teams
- Strong training design and delivery skills, especially in leadership and soft skills
- Experience with coaching, performance management tools, and learning systems (e.g. LMS, eLearning platforms)
- Confident stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. CIPD Level 3 or 5, coaching, Train the Trainer, PETLS)
- A positive, energetic approach with a genuine passion for helping people thrive
- A valid UK Driving License and access to your own transport as occasional/frequent travel to other business sites is required
