We’re recruiting for a Health, Safety & Environmental Officer to join a well‑established manufacturing business in the North East. This is a hands‑on role where you’ll work closely with managers and production teams to improve safety standards, reduce risk, drive environmental initiatives and create a positive safety culture across site.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Carrying out risk assessments and safety inspections
- Investigating accidents, incidents and near misses
- Supporting and improving Health, Safety & Environmental systems
- Delivering safety training and toolbox talks
- Leading and supporting internal audits
- Working closely with operational teams to improve standards
- Driving positive safety behaviours across site
- Monitoring environmental performance and compliance
- Ensuring legal and company compliance requirements are met
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in a Health & Safety role within manufacturing, FMCG, production or a similar environment
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation
- Experience conducting risk assessments and investigations
- Comfortable building relationships across all levels of a business
- Confident communicator who can challenge when required
- A proactive and practical approach to Health & Safety
