Location: Leicestershire

Our client, an FMCG manufacturer, is looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to take ownership of site engineering performance. This hands-on role covers reliability, asset performance, cost control, compliance, and team development. You’ll work closely with operations and technical teams to ensure the plant runs efficiently and safely while delivering site targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead engineering operations to minimise downtime and maximise asset performance.
  • Investigate recurring issues, carrying out root cause analysis and implementing long-term solutions.
  • Monitor downtime, maintenance, and reliability KPIs to prioritise work and drive improvements.
  • Ensure plant, equipment, and facilities meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Plan and deliver preventative maintenance aligned to production schedules.
  • Manage budgets, contractors, spare parts, and services to control costs and reduce waste.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the engineering team, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in an engineering management role within FMCG or food manufacturing.
  • Strong technical knowledge of production equipment, maintenance systems, and asset care.
  • Track record of reducing downtime and improving plant reliability.
  • Experience leading teams, managing performance, and developing engineering capability.
  • Budget management experience with a focus on controlling costs and delivering value.
  • Solutions-focused with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in roles such as Engineering Maintenance Manager, Factory Engineering Manager, Plant Engineering Manager, or similar is desirable.
